Mary-Kate & Ashley enlist Prada President

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen have made a definite statement about the future of their fashion business, by enlisting Prada's US president and ceo to head up their label The Row.

"He quickly became the obvious choice for us and for the brand, having experience in multiple categories which we feel is essential for growth of The Row," Mary-Kate explained.

"His experience and sensibility will add great value to The Row in its next phase of development," Ashley Olsen told WWD.

Fashion makes its mark on the Forbes Top 30 under 30 list.

30 Under 30: Art & Design - Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen:

Professionally-speaking, 2011 has been a year of peaks for the Olsen twins: their label, The Row, was shortlisted for the New Talent award at the CFDA, worn by American First Lady Michelle Obama on national television and the duo launched a new fashion retail website, Stylemint, in the US, and all while looking stylish enough to top American Vogue's best-dressed list.

The year might be up, but they've not quite finished. This week child stars-turned-fashion-entrepreneurs Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have also been named in Forbes's list of Top 30 under 30, in the Art & Design section. The youngest bar one in the whole list at only 25, the twins have garnered a veritable fashion empire, with four labels now under their jurisdiction, to gain their place, where they reside with some of US fashion's other brightest stars.
